The Instituto Internacional de Idiomas would like to inform you that the regulations for obtaining the Spanish nationality has suffered several changes and amongst other requirements the satisfactory pass of two tests designed and administrated by the Instituto Cervantes is now compulsory.
- The test recognizes a basic knowledge of the Spanish language: Spanish diploma DELE level A2 or over.
- The test recognizes a basic knowledge of the Spanish Constitution (Constitución Española) and the social and cultural Spanish reality: CCSE (Conocimientos constitucionales y socioculturales de España).
Both exams can be taken at the Instituto Internacional de Idiomas in Nueva Andalucía as we are an examining centre in all the Marbella and Estepona área.

Information to Obtain Spanish Nationality | CCSE Exam
General information about the Instituto Cervantes tests for obtaining the Spanish nationality.
The implementation of the following laws become effective on the 1st and 15th October 2015:
- Law 12/2015, 24th June, for the concesion of the Spanish nationality to the Sephardim originally from Spain.
- 19/2015, 13th July, for measures of administration reforms on the Administration of Justice and Civil Registry areas which in his final seventh disposition regulates the procedure to obtain the Spanish nationality by residence.
Amongst other requirements both laws require the satisfactory pass of two tests designed and administrated by the Instituto Cervantes:
- The test that recognizes a basic knowledge of the Spanish language:Spanish diploma DELE nivel A2 or over.
- The test that recognizes knowledge of the Spanish Constitution and the social and cultural Spanish reality: CCSE (Conocimientos constitucionales y socioculturales de España).
The candidates who are underage or under the protection of a legal guardian are exempt of taking both tests.

Requirements to register for the CCSE test
Candidates from any nationality with legal capacity to operate and are over 18 can register for taking the test CCSE.
Registration method and price for the test CCSE
Registrations and registration payments will be made online from the website that the Instituto Cervantes will set up on the address (http://ccse.cervantes.es/). The payments will be made via credit card, debit card or PayPal.
The price to register for the test CCSE in 2017 is 85 € (eighty five euros). This price will be annually revised.
The registration for the CCSE test gives the right to attend up to two calls in the case the candidate do not pass the first attempt or the candidate has not entered the first examination.
Dates for CCSE tests
It is expected that the CCSE tests take place on the last Thursday of each month at the times established by the Instituto Cervantes.
Calls for CCSE tests will not take place in August and December.

General description for the CCSE test
The CCSE test consist of 25 closed questions (there are questions with three possible answers where only one is valid and other questions with only one true or false answer ).
The content is divided in two groups: Government, law and citizen participation in Spain (60 % of the items) and Culture, history and Spanish society (40 % of the items). En el siguiente enlace se ofrece un documento con las especificaciones de la prueba CCSE.
The test has a maximum length of 45 minutes.
Qualification and certification system for the CCSE test
The CCSE test contains 25 questions with only one correct answer so the qualification method is automatic. The correct answers will receive 1 point; the incorrect ones 0 points and will not be penalized.
The maximum punctuation that can be obtained in the CSE test equals the number of items that contains (so, this is 25).
The results will be communicated approximately 20 days after the test has taken place.
The candidates will be able to check their results online on their private space, which will be provided in the Instituto Cervantes website using the access details given to the candidate at the time of the registration. The electronic qualification certification could be downloaded from this space (the certification will consist of a Secure Verification Code that will allow to contrast its authenticity).
